Litigation Associate Attorney

Montroll, Oettinger & Barquist P.C., seeks a talented and motivated Associate Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a commitment to excellent client service, and a self-starting work ethic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and criminal defense law, with a passion for advocating on behalf of clients and a dedication to achieving positive outcomes.

 Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in civil and criminal litigation

• Conduct legal research and analysis

• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel and the Court

• Attend Court hearings and trials

• Assist senior attorneys with case management and strategy

Qualifications:

• Admission to the Vermont bar

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong research, writing and analytical skills

• Experience with civil and criminal litigation

• Ideal candidate will have experience working with the Criminal Justice Act (CJA)
